Plenty of the stuff that took place before and after the EU movies wasn’t considered canon, Splinter in the Mind’s Eye comes to mind, and I don’t recall Lucas acknowledging any of the comics as canon.

I would gladly take a crappy season of SNL if we could do without the inspiration.

I maintain that the sole problem with the movie was incompatible humour.

Nicole isn’t checking it out because there’s a lesbian thrown in as queer-bait. She’s checking it out because they decided that in a group of characters that are supposed to fill archetypal roles of society, they decided to make one of them a queer latinx person(much like others are commenting that they want to see it

Thanks dude, do you have any other 4chan memes from 2008 you wanna hit me with.

There’s literally nothing forcing them to make any more Ghostbusters content with these characters. The reason they’re doing so is because (brace yourself) some people really liked that movie.

I love how all the manbabies whining about the reboot “ruining” the original have all conveniently forgotten what a regrettable mess Ghostbusters 2 was.

Did the Ghostbusters reboot kill your dog or something.

It’s basically a noncannon story doing a comic book crossover. Seriously, this is no different from the old team meeting the Turtles.

This is the same writer/artist done Ghostbusters comic that also crossed over with the Ninja Turtles. And the Real Ghostbusters. And places the vidoe game in its canon.
Why wouldn’t they incorporate the new movie?
Especially since it’s not going to get a sequel and they likely have free rein to do whatever they want

This movie left me wanting a sequel way more than the original. Part because I wanted more of the four leads. Partly because I saw the original’s sequel.

So you’re mad that the comics did a crossover in a completely separate series? Were you this mad when the Ghostbusters crossed over with the Ninja Turtles?

Man, Leslie Jones is great even if that scene wasn’t. The movie was generally harmless. Give it a rest.

She is doing the lord’s work and I applaud and adore her.

PS - there was never a debate that women could be funny.

The difference is Women Ruining The Treasured Childhood Thing, presumably.

Lots of reboots and movies in general get comics that continue the story. Star Wars alone gets tons of comics and books that take place directly after or directly before the events of the movies. Am I missing some key difference here? This is basically Expanded Universe material for Ghostbusters.

I really love that Kevin gag in this.

More Holtzmann is always a good thing.

I kind of wish they had made Billy gay as a tribute to David Yost, but oh well.
