That's no woman, that's a man, baby.

[Today BMW announced that it will run its newly restored 1970 BMW ALPINA 2002ti in the annual Rolex Monterey Motorsport Reunion at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca next week. The car will be raced by Road & Track Executive Editor and vintage racer Sam Smith.]

"...probably because I'm the only customer who doesn't get into a screaming argument with the service staff about why they charge approximately the same hourly rate as a former US president on the professional speaking circuit" amazing

The truck then thanked Statham, handing over its "MAN" badging to the actor.

The clownshoes have proven more desirable than the roadsters - who'd have guessed?

Now playing

Ah, JMC...purveyors of copied Isuzus/Opels

Of course he has nefarious intentions. After all, he is a notorious international criminal mastermind:

Well, I'm not saying I don't have a barn full of 2.5-16s.

To be fair, and speaking as a Mercedes enthusiast, the E30 M3 represents a paradigm shift in BMWs focus. The 2.3-16 was merely a response. The 2.3-16, while very cool and rare, is another example of rare != valuable.

$25-30K for great examples? No way. Never again. There are thousands of us GenXers who would pay $25K for a great example of an E30 M3 everyday and twice on Friday. Yes, $60k is above market. But in ten years, it will be considered a very wise investment.

If you say MB 2.3 16v most people will just look at you with a dumb look. M3 is iconic and since it is still around today it will probably always command a premium.

You can't really clone these cars. They have a bespoke rear window/trunk lid that is NLA. (You can't make a 325 look like a M3.) So they are rare and they still look good and drive better. There is only one BMW that has a more dedicated following. Just wait!

At least $3.50, though that's just a guess.

There are stories about a large phantom Rolls that used to terrorize the autobahn by easily catching and running away from what should have been much faster cars...turned out some old guy had transplanted a Merlin engine from a Spitfire into one of the few road-going chassises that could handle all that power.

Tesla is too mature? Have you seen their patent wall?

no.

Ralphie. You're cute when you're a naive slut.
