It’s mainly the bilsteins that make the ride a lot stiffer and harder. A friend has 19" on his phase 1 and it rides almost the same as mine with the 18" stock wheels. The R3 look is essential on a phase 2 model really, good choice!

OMG that’s pretty! I’ve never seen a 996 here with this colour, and certainly not in the classifieds. And the wheels work with that colour even if I don’t like them. Black interior with this colour seems like a good match, although I long for something brighter.

Yep, here in France it’s terrible because people ALREADY buy everything in any shade of grey that doesn’t include white :/

Good on you. I hate my RX-8's stock 5-branch wheels. Even if they look much better in the flesh than on the interweb. I guess I’m part of the idiots who would TE37 everything :D

It’s personal taste really. That being said I think what really bothers me is the colour combo with silver 996s. It’s all too plain in my eyes. I have seen these in darker colours, probably repainted, and they’re much better already. Honestly, I’ve also seen a nice red with caramel interior 996 that had these and, I

I don’t like the facelifted cars except for the R3. Friends who had boththe phase 1 and 2 still claim the R3's ride is too stiff for everyday use. It’s a blast to drive though on windy roads and tracks meant for low powered cars (Spa is still loads of fun).

In Europe you can’t get an RX-8 for $1500 unless you want a rolling shell. Good examples with engines in good condition will set you back €9000 (LHD). But at the same time a decent 996 will cost you €25.000. What I meant though was that the maintenance cost of a sports car will be about the same if you’re willing to

Such a shame also about some of the wheel designs. The ones pictured are really nice, but it’s not what most buyers got, and most of these also bought the car in grey with black interior, or some weird combination that has pale blue or caramel interior...

Yes, but there are tons available on the second hand market, mostly in variations of grey with black interiors and the fugly wave wheels. But even with tons of miles on them, a cared-for car will be a good purchase, as long as the budget includes decent yearly maintenance. After talking about it with owners, it’s not

One thing absent from this is the actual improvement of air quality in densely populated areas. I live in Paris, as you already know, we’ll have EVs only in a few years. Mainly because of the pollution problem. I love ICEs, but moving them out of cities might at least fix that problem if done right (I have my doubts

It depends on what side of the fence you sit. I decided the amount of trolls who would just shame people were enough to keep me off the forums. I’m still in a car club, mostly because we talk about food and booze. Not rotaries :D

As a Rotary owner, yes. Too many dicks that have no idea, too many dicks that think they know everything and too many dicks who bring out the news of an RX-9 reveal every damn week. Fuck it, just drive the cars! And remember to top up the oil.

Phew, thanks for pointing out the design flaw, I was wondering if anyone noticed the wheel arch issue with this can design. Still cool, and ultimately, like the Westfalia, Love the wheels a bit to put the seats on top, and the added height allows you to pass stuff from the front *under* the seating position, thus

Lol, me too!

It does, doesn’t it? Cues from the current PSA line-up are quite clear.

That looks very close to the new Peugeot line-up design cues, down to the color-combo. I wonder if this company has any ties with the Chinese investors that saved Peugeot recently...

This really brings up the theory again that all pilots named Sebastian or Sebastien are in fact, unstoppable. Unless their car is total shit.

Is it? I haven’t had the chance to listen to anything but his singles yet, so I’ll see. My favourite is Black Sands, with the title track as the best track.

I really didn’t know what to expect, since I never went to see this type of music live, but I enjoyed enough to go again a few months later. Was both times in Paris. He’s here again next month!

Excellent taste. If you can, go see him (and his touring cohorts) live, it’s worth it.
