Why would a university hire tenure track or pay more for PhDs? Universities *sell* PhDs. Their goal is to inflate the number of applicants to drive market prices down. Students have done exactly what the college system wants and continued to buy less-than-valuable degrees for ridiculous mark-ups despite the fact that

Stop it. Stop making these people more famous and important. Just stop giving them additional free PR.

Is it just me or is this website bizarrely pro-ostentatious displays of inequality whenever a female celebrity it approves of is flaunting?

She’s not acting in her personal capacity, she’s a member of congress. Which means she represents and advances the interests of the country.

It’s pretty obvious they meant to include trans women. This is a stupid policy in whole, but it’s a bit rich that people are taking Tumblr to task for trying to be inclusive. Take them to task for being idiots instead.

A couple weeks ago I was arguing with someone on here about the Captain Marvel outfit - the article celebrated that she was covered up, not sexualized, not bearing cleavage, as if this were progressive. But the real sexism in the way we treat women’s chests is that we *cover them up*. Thor goes full-Thor. Batman

SIIIIIIICK BUUUUURN YOOOOO. LOL the Dems finally gonna win now that they got that sick twitter fyre game on yo.

Nope. Being from a place is not a principled reason to support one set of policies applying to that place and a different set of policies applying to another place. That’s just nationalism.

Man of erudition right here.

Does she boycott other countries with military occupations or just the Jewish one?

It’s not a matter of context even. It’s just about respecting the basic fundamental fact of time that norms and lives change. You’re literally arguing in favor of ignorance - people today are too stupid to understand something for what it meant in itself, so we should throw out the thing.

Can’t you just see Trump doing that? “Mr. President - Did you get a Shakespeare quote tattooed on your arm?”

This is also a new norm to modern feminism. We used to think that only tabloid trash thought it was appropriate to shame a public figure and challenge their right to perform because of cheating.

Yeah most people, pre-2016, didn’t think it was immoral to make a pass on your colleague. The woman was not employed by Neil, she was employed by the studio.

In other words, I know exactly how much she can consume because I’ve finished the very thing she’s doing: about the same as any other moderately fortunate person who puts in a bit of effort but not too much and not with any particularly great talent.

That’s not what the song is about. A woman with actual applicable knowledge wrote a great essay on this last year. The issue here is that no one actually pays attention to what things mean in their own context, they just filter them through whatever ideological assumptions they currently have and call it a day.

She is an absolute delight. We’re not good enough for her and she knows it.

First off, congrats.

If Cooley is ‘mediocre’ then what’s ‘horrendously terrifying bucket of excrement’?

Not surprising. Her preferred theme is how traumatic her life is.
