don't know where I read it, but someone compared the top gear acceleration run in top speed mode with the autocar acceleration in handling mode and up to 270 kph, they were very similar.

And they look even better in person.

Top speed mode doesn't affect acceleration, up to reasonable speeds where aero doesn't play a role.
