This could be a rally interesting revival, the show was amazing and I personally have enjoyed their solo projects with great zeal. I guess the question is will it have that same sharp wit or would it be more of a cash grab given it is Lorne Michaels pushing for it rather then a project that one of them developed?

Agreed, what makes Pratchett novels work so well is that clear singular voice of a narrator telling a story at his own pace and interest, most of his works also lack chapters. I can’t see that being able to translate as clearly as some other authors

Yea easily the worst of the season but still an amazing episode, and honestly a few jokes were amongst my favorite of the season. I know the two year wait was atrocious and Harmon and Roiland are trying to be less perfectionist, but honestly I would much prefer a shorter season with a wait if it means we got another

Overall great episode though probably weakest of the season, that being said had to pause the episode laughing at the pirate joke and a fantastic use of Mr. Poopybutthole in the teaser. For me the question is was this a “perfect” season of television? I personally feel all the episodes were A level, it was able to

All good points and also shows the complication of how to view the show. Early Dale is very much the deranged doomsday preppper that has sadly grown in prominence but one of the reason the character ends up working is we see Dale is less of a paranoid psycho and more just a cloud coocoolander with more esoteric

Yea something isn’t clearly going on with Janet and she is at least subconsciously manipulating events to get the main four together. Conspiracy theory time, Sean only wanted two attempts because people still accumulate points in the afterlife and can get promoted or demoted to the good or the bad place. Just like

In terms of Dune I am a personal fan of the early 2000's sci-fi adaptation of that and Dune Messiah/Children of Dune. Dragonlance is probably one of my least favorite D&D settings but that being said I am amazed no one has ever really tried anything with that’s particular property even at the height of D&D adaption of

Again a good work around the vast landscapes and environments, but my concern is how much internal dialogue and description plays a role in this and every other of Stephenson’s work.

Answering to both replies here since kinja is confusing and non sensical.

Yea as much as I love my imagined vision it would be breathtaking to see a really talented visual director like Fincher give us their interpretation of the Coastal Republic and New Atlantis.

Exactly, a ton of the books have great ideas but need to be update. I mentioned earlier but Ringworld is a great idea but things like Teela Brown make it very hard to adapt without some drastic changes to the story.

So is Ringworld/known space going to be the “game of thrones” that’s Beezos has been wanting. The series Is something an executive with limited experience would think is an amazing idea, rich universe, dozens of books and short stories, and a built in fan base. That being said it is a pretty dense series not a ton of

1000% please please, this and Ringworld are two hugely expansive projects with no white male leads. If amazon has the balls to keep characters consistent

Agreed a huge problem with a lot of old sci-fi is either linger attitudes of the time or are so hyper focused on the science that either has been proven in correct or overrides character and story.

As much as I would love a Diamond age adaptation I do fear that is an unadaptable work, which also might be the point and what makes it work as a novel. My concern with a Ringworld adaptation is less them handling the spectacle and more some of the content itself. Niven is great at world building but it can get very

Ditto that, plus while Gibson created cyberpunk I think Stephenson codified it. I also think for a post-digital native generation Snow Crash is a much better novel as it has a much stronger understanding of technology and tech subcultures. Very little dates Snow Crash, while Gibson himself admits some moments of the

I feel I have special powers now, in the Inannuchi sci-fi series announcement I explicitly mentioned Ringworld and Snow Crash as two constantly worked on but never adapted works! Now before your new god dweebs and please suggest any and all series you hope to be seen made int a reality!

Damn, regardless of your thoughts about his use of eroticia and some his actions and attitudes this man is nothing less then an american icon who drastically altered the cultural landscape. The fact that he is no longer around is gonna be a bit less interesting without his hot takes. R.I.P dear sir

I think the issue is all about where it leads, honestly if you asked Simpson’s fans in season 6 for another 23 seasons the answer would be a near unanimous yes, and yet here we are gearing up for season 29 with little fan fair and approaching decades of complaining about the quality of the show.

I mean kids are just naturally alot more punchable so I can understand your urges
