There are something like 1,200 Presidential appointees in government.

Zavala is the most interesting character among the Vanguard, but that’s by default. Cayde is dead and Ikora has been functionally shoved into the background, so he’s it.
I have the animatronic version from Hasbro and that’s all the Baby Yoda I need. It’s juuuust far outside the uncanny valley to be adorable. Any closer and I’d have to name him Nestor and legally adopt him.
Because what he did was illegal.
Three years in Club Fed isn’t the worst thing in the world, in exchange for peace of mind, being able to travel, and probably making bank on the lecture circuit in the US.
Ctrl-F. “rolling coal”. 0/0
He’s not stuck. He just refuses to take responsibility for his actions.
Well, there’s the never ending racism, anti-Semitism, lawlessness, corruption, and being on the wrong side of literally every issue that I care about.
Facebook and Twitter, by their own admission, take it easy on conservatives. In an article, Twitter was asked why they’ve been so effective in deplatforming ISIS but not white supremacists and white nationalists - their response was that doing to white supremacists/nationalists what they did to ISIS would ALSO mean…

In a couple of decades, maybe. The death toll is too high, the level of incompetence is too great.
I WANT deadlines. I want big, scary deadlines I can hold in some senior executive’s face that read something in the WSJ that morning the second they ask to implement something that’s expensive, impractical, and would set us behind by months. I don’t want to spend my life working for one endless client - I want to get…
I can’t take credit for that - that’s a Charles Pierce-ism.
I don’t think the LP folks will see roles in the Biden Administration, but stuff like John Kasich in the cabinet makes me sick to my stomach. Kasich was a nut with the gift to appear reasonable - if we can’t find qualified Democrats to serve in the cabinet of a Democratic administration, we’ve got gigantic problems.
This is true. But, let’s not also pretend that rural America does not also have it’s head up it’s own ass. They keep voting for people that are against programs that would actually increase their quality of life, and doubling down on it in election cycle after election cycle.
The problem with rural internet is the same as it’s always been - poor ROI. You’re never going to convince Comcast, AT&T, Spectrum, or anyone else to lay fiber out to Bumfuck, Oklahoma (pop. 53 people, 147 possums) because the sun will expand and consume the earth before they ever make enough profit to justify it.
Voicing my support for MSI here. I’m (usually) a road warrior - 24+ weeks a year in and out of airplanes, hotels, etc. Bought an MSI laptop in 2014, lasted until 2019, when I replaced it. Only issues I had in five years were A) the hard disk drive crapping out (easily fixed with a user-installed SSD), B) the keyboard…
Someone on twitter called them the Frankenstein Project - a group of mad scientists that created the monster now rampaging throughout the countryside, who have picked up torches alongside the townsfolk to destroy their own creation.
She’s got dirt.
The kids are alright.
