Thank God Trump is both stupid and a terrible politician.
Fox News news wants nothing to do with it because there’s a pretty high chance it’s Russian disinformation and they have at least some degree of journalistic integrity
Focusing exclusively on foreign policy is a total tossup for Trump. He could spend ninety minutes bashing China, or get endless questions about Russia. He could whack Joe for his Iraq War vote, or get whacked for letting the Turks fuck up the Kurds.
Needs a pack of Parliaments and Dropkick Murphys blaring on an iPod from 2008.
Part of the reason the Special Prosecutor was shifted to a special counsel was precisely because of Ken Starr’s horrific overreach. He went from investigating a real estate transaction to litigating presidential infidelity.
Hot take coming in - who the fuck cares?
This worked against Hillary because she was seen, wrongly, as self-serving, overly ambitious, and Machiavellian. This doesn’t work against Biden because even in the bullshit that they’ve released, Biden comes across as a good dude - he removed a corrupt prosecutor that multiple international organizations had flagged…
Misogyny was a big part of Hillary’s loss.
Honestly, secret ballots would have solved the issue. By forcing Senators to take a public vote, it almost assures that none of the President’s party would vote to convict because the political cost is too high. Anyone that voted for it, with rare exceptions, would have been primaried and lost.
I was going to jump in here and add my two cents, but you’ve already got a hundred bucks of thoughts here, so I’ll just say, *gestures at all of this*.
He wouldn’t be allowed to.
2016 was a bad year for Democratic presidential candidates. There weren’t a ton of governors in office that are still in office today - Cuomo, Bullock, Inslee - and a pretty thin bench from the House and Senate. Maybe you could have convinced Warren, Booker, Gillibrand, Castro, or Klobuchar to throw their hats in to…
Because it would be open season on the President. It’s a mutually assured destruction policy to ensure that some overzealous state AG doesn’t indict the President for some bullshit, tie them up in court, and affect the running of the country.
Yup. I was genuinely shocked that I was starting to feel cramped, but there it is. We are all goldfish.
You had me right up until “number pad on the left side”. I didn’t even realize that that existed, but I guess it does. Still, that’s an incredibly niche product.
About three years ago I went from a 650 sqft 1b1ba in a high rise to a 1600 sqft 2b2ba in a condo building.
Obama has two different public speaking cadences. There’s the “preacher” voice, which he used a lot during the campaign, and the “professor” voice, which you’d see in news conferences. The first he’d use to inspire people, and the second he’d use to educate people.
Social media is not an irredeemable cesspool of the worst of humanity. It can help bring people from different walks of life, different countries, different places together. It can be a valuable tool for promoting freedom and democracy.
If he wants to be insufferable on Fox, Parler, or whatever other bullshit site he wants to decamp to, let him shout into the void. Just so long as I don’t have to hear about it, and they publish the location of his grave so I can piss on it.
