Is the Giveaway of the Day site pretty legit? Any chance of spyware on the programs they give away?

@nirmal,

Ive always been curious how people use these kind of apps that make virtual desktops. My Nvidia card came with an app that does virtual desktops, but ive never used it. Whats the advantage of creating virtual desktops versus having tiled windows ?

pretty cool. I can fold this up and put it in my ALL-ETT wallet.

@maven, google patent layout looks alot better than the US patent site.

LOL @ kookoobirdz,

Thanks for the finance recommendations. Nice list of alternatives, but it looks like im sticking with Money 2004 for right now. Im not crazy about Java applications, since they tend to be slow. I ran JGnash for a bit, didn't like the UI to much. The only Java based app I use often is Jalbum to create online

GNUCash sounds nice, but its not available for Windows. Anyone have a good, free, open source replacement for Microsoft Money? Ive been using MS Money 2004 since it came out, but curious if anything open source is out there.

@zapatar, i doubt that.

We need a hack to use Remote Desktop on XP Home machines. :)

crazy.

Please someone figure out how to hack amazon to get a free Prime membership, lol. I miss my free prime trial, it ended 2 weeks ago.

Sorry, but Zune sucks...

LOL, we try to come up with better ways to save money on LH, but the shirts are pretty expensive at $20 a pop. Does that include shipping at least?

I cant wait till the Zune is called the worst product of 2006 :)

@Barron,

if you are smart, you will not get any viruses. Most viruses come from opening email attachments or downloading files from non-trusted sites. I never open email attachments, and only download from reputable sources.
