Well true, Eastern Europe is a whooole different can of worms, but there’s the Communist background that has to be considered for better or worse - enlightenment or tolerance is very difficult under an oppressive regime that dictates hate towards ANY “other”. I get that, because -speaking of the Roma population- in Western Europe being Romanian still counts as being “the other” - because to everybody here Romanian = Roma = gypsy, so there’s that.
