Counterpoint: Id trust them without replay long before NFL or NBA referees. And NBA referees deserve a break because charge/block calls are the toughest

Oh they were a huge deal. Working class people listened to them. Managing Directors at my Lehman Brothers listened to them. Their meltdown in 2004 as the Yankees lost the ALCS to the Red Sox is sports talk radio gold. But they are history, just like the VHS tapes that taped their damn, un-listenable show.

Can you imagine the take that would emit from this site if, like, a Goldman VP flipped off a protestor outside of their headquarters, though?

Players can and do respond at times. We’ve all seen it. Player’s jaw back at fans. That’s not what Smart got fined for. Making an obscene gesture to an entire crowd is a completely different story. It’s asking for a fine, in any sport. It amazes me how people can’t see the difference here.

Jeez. Wrestling fan until the end.

Counterpoint:

The offer was Paul George for Jae Crowder, Jaylen Brown, Marcus Smart, and a (very good) first round pick.

Meeks should’ve been MOP over Berry. Monster game in the semis and some incredible defense on Karnowski in the final.

The problem in these cases is there isn’t a whole lot of evidence (ie unlike Ray Rice where it’s clear). He plead not guilty, the charges were dropped, his wife even went as far to say the bruises she had were not caused by him. That, and you add a language barrier in this case and it makes it difficult. Not excusing

Not disagreeing with you, but I’m curious to hear what you think would be appropriate for this case. It sounds like the Reyes and Chapman cases were much worse and I think you could argue a full season for each of those would’ve been closer to the mark. 50 games for Familia?

Mike Francesa isn’t buying it

I’m a UK fan largely by way of my family (dad, granddad, and papaw all bleed or bled blue for the entirety of their lives), and that UNC game was most definitely a heart-breaker. True, the calls were sometimes shitty, but that happens in most games (as this article notes); when the pressure’s on, expecting any human

You think they should cut Granderson? He’s coming off a 30 homer season, and had an OPS of .799, just .015 below his career average. His .237 average is frustrating, but he walks a decent amount, and still hits for power. I would eat Bruce’s contract WAY before Granderson’s. Granderson is an average defender with a

I don’t blame you for being annoyed with the team, but Conforto’s struggles last season wasn’t because he was platooning or spot-starting. He legitimately sucked for like a month or two. I’m down to try Granderson in center unless his defense really hurts us, then we need to move him right and put Lagares in center.

“The Mets continue to stunt the development of Major League caliber players (Lagares, Conforto, Flores, etc.”

A toddler might say to you, “Vroom vroom, I am a truck!”

“None of our main guys say no to the baseball classic.”

Always got to love the dead air for 30 seconds and Mike humming as we have to wait for him to look up stuff on his phone. He never disappoints.

Mike Francesca, Trump, a middle-school doofus farting his way through an oral report on a book he forgot to read.  They all sound identical.
