It’s not funny, it’s an indictment of how accurate his criticisms are.

The people upset over what he did don’t want to talk about what he’s actually protesting. If they don’t talk about it then the problem doesn’t exist. They’re essentially sticking their fingers in their ears and going “la la la I can’t hear you!”

Funny how all the talk and awareness is about what Kap did, and almost zero on the issue he was hoping to shine a light on.

The fact that this shitface has a job doing what he does is proof that white people get an unfair advantage in this country.

To quote Bomani Jones:

He’s not even protesting the military. He’s protesting the police, and the fact that a number of our citizens feel that they can be murdered with no repercussion. And as a white guy on the outside looking in I’ve gotta say, they have a pretty damn good argument to feel that way.

One funny observation I’ve made through this whole thing is that, excluding the few who have actually served and seem upset by Kaepernick, most of the people I see pouting about him not “supporting” the troops/veterans/fake patriotism are the people whom I suspect do the least material or meaningful supporting of

No, of course Kaep’s fight isn’t with the military, but since this country in general, and the NFL specifically, likes to conflate patriotism with jingoistic militarism, it was inevitable that this issue would be framed that way.

Dear Veterans who are offended and feel insulted - THIS ISN’T ABOUT YOU. The song doesn’t represent YOU. The flag doesn’t represent YOU. It’s the other way around, actually.

Of course it’s not, because he never once mentioned anything about veterans or their efforts. No, that connection was made by reflexive morons who work a lot harder on composing their perfect Facebook response than they do actually thinking about what he was talking about. Because thinking is fucking hard, man!

American police unions remain the worst.

I don’t think people realize that you can’t just move to another country. I love when I criticize certain aspects of this country and people say “you don’t like it, leave.” Ok hook me up with an EU VISA and you will never have to hear from me again.

I’m not sure I agree with the idea that Chandra has previously been portrayed as competent. She had been portrayed and young and in over her head. Her first big character beat was advising Naz not to take the plea offer, even though they had him dead to rights at that point and the two more experienced defense

Yep. And since the guy who’s mother was the drug mule had killed himself in the jail. He couldn’t have taken the stand without drugs. Also, the security camera footage is controlled by corrupt jailers. Kapoor was 100% certain she could win the case by having him testify and young people do stupid things. She took a

Box counterpoint: Cops and prosecutors not pursuing any other directions because they convince themselves the first answer is the right one is completely realistic.

i think the night of is extremely accurate. dumb choices are like 95% why people go to jail. and 95% of non-jailed people make dumb choices constantly, theyre just not in jail. example: everyone forever everywhere. i dont know how we are all still alive

this is an exaggerated version of what I saw the day I went into a Chicago police station to file a report after a robbery. the cops were blasting music, female cops sitting on male cops’ laps, one guy was kinda harassing his female colleague for a date...it was weird. luckily my friends were with me to see it because

Umm, it was more than half of all the private people that she met with during her reign. It was clearly the means to gain her ear, to gain access. She was, therefore, selling her public office. What about people who lack the means to give millions to the Foundation for Graft and Influence Peddling, are they to be shut

What do the police even do? They don’t care if your house is robbed, if your car is stolen, if you’re mugged, especially not if you’re raped, and they have no obligation to stop a crime in progress. So, traffic stops and jamming people up for marijuana?

Sex addiction is a strange beast.
