my reaction too…especially after he called HF's relationship "probably doomed." I'm surprised it didn't rub anyone else the wrong way.

Yeah, what was that about??
"How do I remain a meninist when my girlfriend comes on my chest every— Oh."
"The man who keeps pestering his girlfriend to divulge earlier sexual
experiences is just being an abusive asshole, according to our first
caller. Our second caller thinks that same man is getting turned on,
and suggests asking during sex"
I was wondering the same thing, it seems like a pretty dramatic disparity…
"We do each have the right and the ability to share our histories and tell our stories."
I worked at the one in Gillette and dropped enough of those mugs to guarantee that they weren't real glass.
Was anyone else annoyed by Wes Anderson's take on Nazism in the Grand Budapest Hotel?
Patton Oswald also had a clown bit in his last stand-up special. I think the whole "hey remember clowns, isn't that a sad, pathetic vocation to be practicing in the 21st century?" thing is having a renaissance among the alt-comedy crowd. Low hanging fruit tbh
I'm bothered by the use of "gaslighting" here, I think it should be reserved for instances of abuse, not for pretending that your own limits are reasonable and universal, which is probably what a broad segment of the population believes.
Also, I'm assuming the people who are comforted are the people who did vote for Clinton.
Yes!!! And her Ripley is way too repulsive for the likes of Alain Delon/Matt Damon. I like both movies but they don't quite get the Highsmithian edge.
Read "Little Tales of Misogyny" by Patricia Highsmith and tell me that female-authored fiction is necessarily empowering.
This is cool but it would be interesting to see someone with something to lose denounce Trump.
This article made me watch Bill Maher for the first time and now I kinda like him. Just sayin'.
Your knowledge of Arthurian legend is impressive.
It's…complicated.
While most straight men hate straight women shrews, most straight men want their women to be shrews—but only now and then, and only for them. A dash of controlled/vestigial shrewishness is a desirable trait, not a disqualifying one.
Why did Dan endorse No on Prop 60? Just curious…I was going to vote Yes, my logic was that seeing condoms in porn might encourage people to actually wear them. Then someone told me that it would just drive the porn industry out of CA and not change anything at all so I'm on the fence. Curious about Dan's reasons.
Yeah, I totally agree with you. I've dated two Italian men who were so much more enlightened to questions of sexual equality than the average American and I'm ALWAYS finding myself having to defend Italians and Italy against this gross caricature that seems like its out of the 1950s.
