I think Angel established that gray area much better, even if only himself. Wolfram and Hart had some great multifaceted characters, and I love Lorne to pieces.

That magic addiction was the absolute dumbest thing that show ever did. It forced the parallels with teen life in a very corny and inconsistent way.
