Very true. There will always be purists or people who admire or prefer older technologies, sometimes because of that enhanced feeling of connection that you described. Several individuals from our generation are interested in older devices or mechanisms for these reasons (turntables, sail boats, fixed gear bicycles,

Yes, they will find the romance and thrill in it, but they won’t associate their sound with the concepts of power and reliability

I’m at that stage as well (38 years old). Very soon kids in our neighborhoods will look at us and the Type Rs or STIs in our driveways the same way we looked at old baby boomers hosing their driveway next to a Chevy Nova or Trans Am’s.

Young people will love this new standard and those who grown up with electric sports car will look back at combustion cars and associate their sound with weakness and unreliability. Our opinion is distorted by nostalgia and our reluctance to accept profound change.

It’s just going to make PC players want to buy a PS5 when Horizon 2 comes out.

I wish I could play the game and form my own opinion, but it keeps crashing and is unplayable.

The concept of “one dedicated system for videogames” is exactly what Sony and MS are pursuing.

I totally understand your perspective and I would most probably do the same if I were you. I have the privilege of living close to the downtown/business district of my city so I never have to drive to work. I can just walk or bike to work. Which means my car is purely a toy. Since I have a 6 year-old daughter and a

AWD, turbo AND automatic only!

I remember Nissan saying the IDx would have more power and cost less than the BRZ. We all know how that ended.

I’m really interested in the PS5 audio capabilities and think that, combined with the controller’s haptic feedback, they will greatly improve Sony’s next gen experience. I’m also optimistic about the new innovations in game design made possible by the PS5's “no-loading” SSD. (Although I’m not convinced external

Exactly. A Bluepoint Games remake or remaster of KZ2 would be insane.

I see it in the same way. If the service provided is not mandatory by law, then the business falls lower on my list.

So let’s determine the ultimate North American Top 5 of businesses we will never feel pity for. Banks and insurance compagnies remain top in my Canadian opinion because the system forces us to rely on them. I suggest:

I’m Canadian so I had to Google “HMO” to see what it means. I agree it seems like a racket though.

I don’t consider airlines to be as evil as the Big 3, but they are definitely up there. If we can think of one more, we can turn this into a Top 5 and then for sure airlines are included.

I know right? There are three businesses for which I will never feel pity: banks, insurance companies an car dealerships.

I owned a SNES at the time and remember snobbing the PS1 when it first came out because of the loading times. I also remember advising my friends to wait for the N64 “because it will have more power”. But then all the games I liked migrated from the SNES to the weaker PS1 so I moved to Playstation and never looked

I feel like people will be sold when they first try a PS5 for themselves and hear that new audio. This will do wonders for immersion.

The SSD on the PS5 will allow Sony’s first party studios to have more freedom in level design. The absence of loading times will eliminate “elevator” scenes, pointless tunnels or mazes, allow for instantly jumping through multiple universes, etc.
