Yeah... my mom sometimes asks me what she should have done differently and I’m like “well you probably should have never gotten married to a somewhat psychopathic man who didn’t want to marry or have kids, then you probably shouldn’t have had several kids, then you probably shouldn’t have stayed married... and you

It’s like you’re not even trying to be an asshole anymore... I’m sorry, we’re going to have to break up, I can’t be with someone who can’t maintain their basic convictions. Au revoir ma chérie, I will try to remember you the way that I met you, not as what you became...

No no, you’re supposed to insult my intelligence, looks, and then call me a loser. You were doing so well.

Likes spewing out “facts” with no real information, bombastic, blustering, condescending, dishes but can’t take it.... Your Trump impression is spot on.

*hugs*

Taxes based off of citizenship, not residency, is a great reason for someone who qualifies for citizenship not to apply. Dumbass.

Stahp. When everyone’s telling you that you’re acting like an asshole, you’re probably acting like an asshole. Defensiveness and a lack of introspection aren’t a winning combo.

Additionally the person said they were voting dem. but hadn’t picked a candidate. That doesn’t fall into the typical undecided voter

Star for your name.
(Slightly unrelated: I recently learned that there’s a genuine conspiracy theory that a bunch of important people are reptiles, including the queen. It’s delightful.)

It shouldn’t be against the norm of human behavior? I am eagerly awaiting your tale of the last time you spent $40k saving the life of your fellow human beings. Oh and the last time you gave up on a lifelong dream for pure altruism. Oh and performed a feat of astounding endurance to rescue a person. Or lost anything,

Hold on, if you’re actually debating with yourself whether a man who
1. gave up on a lifetime dream
2. sacrificed several tens of thousands of dollars
3. may lose several fingers
4. carried a man down a lethal icy slope for 8 hours and lost like 45 lbs from his ordeal
to save the life of a guy he met only the week

But yeah, this year a poor fellow lost his vision due to the high altitude and was helped by his team and several sherpas, ultimately had to be abandoned on the mountain. It is not an environment that bows to humanity or compassion.

I mean, sure? But this is a place where you can die of exhaustion by merely trying to get enough air to breathe at 8k+m. Also the retinal haemorrhages that a quarter of Everest climbers experience... so I dunno how many peeps would be willing to take the job? Helicopters like at Mont Blac I guess?

We must agree to disagree then. I fully support regulating Mt Everest (though lulz on getting the chinese on board) and installing the kind of basic infrastructure that could save so many climber’s lives. But I don’t think you owe it to your fellow humans to save themselves from their own recklessness at risk to your

Ugh. People.

On mount Everest (as in most things) the media loves to report on deaths and tragedy, not compassion. Hence why 1996 and 2012 were such bonanzas. So sure, you will hear lots of reports that sell. But don’t despair!

Whether you pass judgement or not is none of my concern, but recognize that you are speaking from a place

If you read about Francys Arsentiev and others who have collapsed above 8000m, they are often assisted by other people (who give up on their summit attempts) and perish anyways. Attempting to rescue a disabled climber can easily cost another climber their life (Francys’ husband fell to his death while trying to rescue

The BBC recently did a series on mountain climbers and what motivates them (they were exploring the dead of Everest especially). And to a large extent it seemed to be bragging rights, but also pretty powerful is the simplicity of it and the control you have over what happens up on the mountain. You’re afraid, you fall

You go from “profound and instructive” and grandiose statements to “it’s humourz!!!!” as soon as I point out all of your conclusions are absurd generalizations? Ok then. Have a good night.

I’m glad you finally reached that conclusion. Saying things like “it’s not wise to fool with nature” and “Cloning, however, has extreme possible repercussions: and the strongest opponents thereto are scientists for this very reason.” are so broad and alarmist as to be without any meaning.

Some plants have very complex

The rosemary cuttings in my garden have extreme possible repercussions?
