The Doctor always experiences things as “new” even if she retains all her memories—it is part of what keeps the show so fresh, that tension between the new and the known in the Doctor.

Jodie Whittaker has a Yorkshire accent. That accent is heard in one of my favorite areas of the UK, and I am going to be so happy to hear it from the Doctor!
Your post briefly made me sad, because it even crossed your mind that anything in that clip was embarrassing...so I was quite relieved when your sentence ended with you recognizing the joy. Keep fanboying! I am probably far older than you, and I can tell you from experience: there should be only joy, no shame. ;) …
This makes me inordinately happy. Good for you! Thanks for being so big-hearted!
Is this true? If so, it is one of the best stories I’ve heard in a long time...and I’m copying it for WW2, if you don’t mind.
I did three things when sharing art with my children:
Charles and Julie, don’t know if we are allowed to post links to other articles, but just to demonstrate that all our responses (those of us whom Charles thinks are in “sh—-y marriages”, according to your twitter account—you’re one rude jerk) aren’t isolated:
What is described in this article is NOT the marriage that appeared in the film. It was a sloppy, digressive commentary that was (probably purposefully, click-bait and all) blind to the actual relationship of the Parrs. (And, for what it’s worth, I’m at 34 years and counting, and happy as a lark.)
Yes! “Anything you can do, I can do better” can be a heck of a lot of fun! That pillow scene was one of my favorite moments in the movie.
I see what you did there. And thank you!
Good grief. Each time Mr. I said something stupid, he looked at his wife’s face and immediately realized he was stupid. His wife didn’t confront him because she didn’t need to. Mr. I manned-up and did his very best to take care of the family—and he did a pretty damn good job.
I hate that I know this: But that is not a tracksuit. It is a black Members Only jacket, the quintessential, preppy guys jacket in 1980s California high school. And a pair of properly pleated, 1980s black pants (khaki would have been better). The only thing wrong with Steve’s clothes is the plain white tshirt-never…
I am hoping that it is not the last season—this show features more powerful women than any other I can think of, especially if by “powerful” one means always acting with their own agency, as equal parts of a team. Sure, dramatic sci-fi, spy plot stuff happens around them (which I vastly prefer to soap opera-y…
Thanks! I really was curious. Russia is a big place and assume there are variations—but you are right. I can spot a bad Minnesota accent a mile away. ....Now I’ll have to go see Red Sparrow and try to avoid being distracted by her accent. :)
I have a question—and it really is just that, a question: Do you, by chance, have first-hand knowledge of Russian accents? I am often curious about the judgement people make about accents, as if there is one German accent or one Russian accent. Russia is a big place; the variations on a Russian accent must be…
