They are changing the contents of someones email without asking them first. That is pretty much the definition of malware. Also, is it even legal?

How would you feel if every text message you sent was appended with “This message has been sent over Verizon Wireless/AT&T/Sprint/T-Mobile and has been checked as not spam. Visit [Carrier URL]”?

It’s find if the footer was an opt-in option, but otherwise you’re advertising for the program without your consent (unless you knew these settings were on by default and are okay with it). The footer also looks unprofessional.

Does it do this by default? Because if so, the proper reaction should be “uninstall”, not “turn it off”. That’s a pretty big violation of trust, IMO.

I’m not sure there’s any factual evidence to support we have only so much willpower per day. In fact, I’m inclined to think the more we exercise our willpower, the more of it we have.

I think the point here is that by the time most of us are in our thirties or forties (or higher), we've forgotten a lot of what we learned when we were thirteen, unless we've made a career of science.

Oh but that's not just because you're trained. I can't even read notes, but I need simple music and no vocals to not be distracted.

As a trained musician, I have to say that listening to unfamiliar music while working often means I am focusing too much on the music. The same is true for more complex music, since I'm trained to listen critically.

That, friend, is a question better left to the lazy Macgyver in all of us. You know your work, you just need to be creative and you should hopefully be able to find a little nook somewhere quiet. Having a car makes it easy.
