...not everything is “it’s because women, unfair!!!!” This may very well be the case here, I am just curious if there are other exceptions.

No, not if there are other groups that are disqualified for reasons other than being women. For example, if non-combat roles don’t qualify. Easy peasy.
I would like to know if there are other scenarios where (male or female) members of the armed forces are not qualified for burial there. That would help put into perspective if it was just unfairness toward the women or if there were other cases where the honor was not granted.
I recently had a running injury and my orthopedic doctor told me twice that wearing heels is the dumbest thing to do to your feet, knees, hips, back and ankles.
She probably has big boobs and long hair. That’s how you look “too sexy” in a pantsuit.
Horrible. Would you ever reach out to the guy via email, letter, or (ballsy) in person to confront him about it? You wouldn’t get much out of it but it could feel satisfying to let him know you are aware of his comments, how it affected your career, and what BS it was. You never know, maybe it would get through to him?
Totally agree. Dresses are the easiest “put together” outfit to wear. Toss on a cardigan or blazer for layering, and you look like you might as well be running the company :)
Appropriate workplace attire is determined by that workplace, or more specifically, its leadership.
Amen to this as a 34-year-old.
This irritates me to no end. I’m 34, at the top end of the alleged “millennial” range. I didn’t grow up with the internet, I didn’t grow up with mobile tech and social media, which are supposed factors of the millennial generation. We got AOL my senior year in high school. I got a flip phone when I went to college.…
I find these numbers a bit misleading considering they include college-aged young adults between 18-22. Many students live at home during school or do so intermittently between school years. This isn’t a case of lazy millennials, it’s just a reality of college life. Also living with parents while working - presumably…
Who cares. You don’t owe anybody an explanation or apology. Families are there to help each other. One day your parents may be looking to you to take them in, or care for them, etc. Where’s the shame articles attacking elderly people for moving in with children or other family members? If your parents are in a…
Attacking someone for no reason is criminal assault. He’s lucky to not have been charged.
Domestic abusers still deserve constitutional rights. Besides, lots of reports of domestic abuse are probably just lying victims trying to get attention.
I can only try to imagine the plight of large-breasted women and working out. I’m a 36B and Target sports bras do the trick.
Ugh. This is me when my fiance came home drunk the other night, feeling goofy and mistakenly thinking he was being really, really funny. I just asked him to please hurry up and go to sleep.
MAYBE THAT’S WHAT HIS FACE REALLY LOOKS LIKE, GUYS!
They weren’t “all” drunk, were they? All means all. Let’s use our words. Jezebel is still journalism (lite), after all.
No one likes What Women Want?
To all the people who say 13-year-olds shouldn’t be sexually active: you are correct.
