Edit: This is not where it was supposed to be.
That's a smart out. I appreciate you taking the time to offer a helpful solution, instead of criticizing an already acknowledged issue! You're good people.
I feel like I'm the same way. It's awful to feel like you owe someone a hookup, but I know it all too well. Damn social conditioning. I know I'm susceptible too, as I had an ex who coerced me into sex on more than a few occasions. I'm working on it, but it's a tough thing to break when you've been constantly told to…
It filled me with glee to see him looking so miserable.
I can believe that. I was at UTS for her weird "is the school racist because Asians go there?" article, and we were all a little blown away by her.
Please, please, please submit a complaint about this. If you go to the article there is a little warning sign at the bottom (the hover texts says "report an error") that allows you to send in a complaint. The Star has really been slipping in quality and it's important to let them know that this isn't okay.
I feel like they're all scrambling to fill Jan Wong's shoes, without remembering that for all her horribleness, she was still a pretty good journalist.
Yeah, I was really confused too. My labia minora are never visible, and I had just assumed that it was standard. Some googling has shown me that this isn't the case. Either way, they still all look great!
In some countries (Canada I think is included in this, and the US maybe) sexual assult is used as a blanket term so that the specifics of what happened to the victim don't have to be made public for the sake of her/his privacy.
I got the chickenpox vaccine when I was 12 or so because I'd never been able to catch it from my classmates and it gets more dangerous as you get older. I also read something recently about the vaccine reducing incidences of shingles, which seems like a very valid aim since shingles sucks super hard.
Yeah we're clearly talking about different things. There's a big difference between a mom who pushes healthy choices and one who derides you as fat (despite being on the thin side of normal) because you asked if you could have a cookie after dinner. This isn't about being strict, it's about parents projecting their…
I totally agree. My mother has struggled with food issues her whole life (and based on how tiny she is right now, they're rearing their head again). The first thing I did when I moved into my own place was fill a cupboard with fruit by the foot, poptarts, pringles, etc. just because I could.
Part of the problem with relying on sequestering is that you're contagious before you're symptomatic. Otherwise the CDC would have a much easier time of things!
Lots of people with immune system problems (my dad for instance) are unable to receive vaccines. They're also often the same people who are particularly likely to become seriously ill or die if they get infected.
My father actually was paralyzed with GBS as the result of a flu shot, and it has in no way changed my unwavering belief that everyone should get one, and though my dad can no longer receive vaccines, he still encourages everyone around him to get them. The fact that I saw the one in 5 million outcome up close doesn't…
You make a good point, but the thing that's even more frustrating here is that it isn't the case in California. There was no such requirement of proof, this asshat just decided all on his own that it wasn't real rape.
Well ,that and running the parking lot at Pusateri's! I've heard those are actual, on duty cops though...
That's pretty standard retail policy - you can address the theft and if necessary ask directly for it back , but if they try and leave you just let them. It's more for the employee's safety than anything.
My dad is the same way - unbelievably fit and very good with what he eats, but still has serious issues with his blood pressure. He has to take medication throughout the day and keep a monitor at home and at the office. Poor guy runs 8k 5 days a week and is more or less a vegetarian (everyone else in the family is,…
