take an advice of a linux beginner. while linux mint has alot going for it i find it to be much more error prone than ubuntu so while it may seem like a good choice i would choose the latter even so i still havent used any other flavour however i am thinking about LFS or Arch

@gthing: actually me using the internet on the other room was being blamed for slowing down non internet activities on my parents computers. I was also asked once to stop using my dsl connection so much so that we have a lighter bill (keep in mind that we have a flat rate unlimited internet that they pay for)
