I listened to that tape of that young man, Elijah McClain, that sweet young man who, even in the midst of one of the most horrible things imaginable, was polite, apologetic, scared, hurting...they killed that beautiful child as if he was a rampaging monster.

We don’t need a season 2 of that particular story line, it’s perfect.

Nicole Hannah-Jones pointed something out on Twitter, which I thought was pertinent here: today’s Supreme Court ruling is an interpretation of the Civil Rights Act-which was created to end race-based discrimination in employment, so today’s victory is very strongly due to the fight for Black rights.

This is the last straw.

I read about this earlier today. As someone who describes myself as a “word person”, I’m glad that a definitive compiler of words and their meanings actually listened and acted appropriately.

It means making most city budgets not look like this.
