That’s not a bad thing necessarily but your point is valid - it really doesn’t look 6 figure exotic. It reminds of the i8, very interesting until you hear the price then you start listing all the cars you’d rather have for that money.

Ouch, too many beautiful pics in your comment. My heart can only take so much!

In the last year the 8 series was produced 1999 it was so out there and really stood apart from the BMW line up as truly something special. Here it is compared to the rest of the lineup. I think the equivalent today would be the i8 in how polarizing the 8 series was in 1999 compared to the rest of the lineup.

It doesn’t in person. I’ve seen several, and it looks like BMW were trying very hard to make it look like a mid-engined car because of that windshield being so far forward and the roofline being long.

Probably because it looks like a fucking Mustang.

Oh, I stand corrected, and I will update that sentence! Thank you for the info!

The manual swap was a must for me. I basically just drive to meets and around town and to work, but I really enjoy the engagement of a manual. Luckily, it’s pretty well-covered ground; there’s a lot of swapped 3G Accords out there so finding info is really easy. Also yes, assuming the world someday returns to sanity,

This was my favorite generation of Accord, knew countless kids in highschool that had the 2dr hatch and 4dr sedan versions; usually ended up helping them with their car when the distributor would get worn out and they were stuck in the school lot.

I wanted a hatchback with B18 swap. Keep it visually stock with nice

I love the low, lean look of 80s Japanese cars. Compared to the bloated stuff we have nowadays I look at the short height of the engine bay and go, “How’d they fit an engine in there?”

Glad to see you’re giving it a little more enjoyment with the manual swap.

Looks like it’d be a perfect fit at Radwood.

Beautiful car and an excellent post. I look forward to more updates.

“It was a RHD-market only version of the third generation Accord...

Very nice. I really like the blue interior.

We were half-assedly shopping before this all went down but since the outbreak we have put that on hold. Even though one of the cars has 220k on it, its very reliable and safe. That was the one we wanted to replace, mainly because another car is climbing fast and I don’t want 2 loans at once. We both have secure jobs

“I have a family and I know you would do anything to protect yours. I like you and I like the cut of your jib. I’ll throw in the microbe resistant door handle covers at no charge. Whattayasay?”

“Hey Bob! Can you believe this guy doesn’t want the virus protection?”

You know it’s coming.....”will you be taking the extra virus protection coating?  it only adds $13 a month!”

It’s insane how many businesses and even large corporations seem to be surviving paycheck to paycheck.

I can’t imagine anyone WANTING to buy a car right now with all the uncertainty. I’m lucky enough to have a very secure job, money in the bank, etc., but no WAY am I spending a penny that I don’t have to for the foreseeable future. But if you can do the deal online, sure, why not sell a few cars if you can?

1st gear: I can’t blame them for trying, but I think this might be about as ‘essential’ as GameStop trying to stay open. It’s not a request, really, to provide essential services. It’s a ploy to stay open since even a short term stoppage will put them out of business.

I can see a genuine argument being made for their

I don’t think they are ESSENTIAL, however they do exist in an environment where doing the whole “social distancing” thing or whatever they a call it is pretty easy to accomplish, outside of a test drive of course. We are in a position where there is no GOOD answer for all parties involved. Ideal world close stuff down
