That’s a fair point, especially given the trend ICE cars are going in regarding modification and ease of repair. But I mean, Tesla is really the only mainstream available example regarding an electric car future. Teslas are definitely tune-able and modifiable. Private shops already exist regarding this. Yeah thats a plus. I assume this was the 70s and 80s?
This makes me really excited for the future of custom electric vehicles and tuning. As a college student studying EE and comp sci and on a FSAE team, there really is huge potential for growth in this field. There’s gonna be a whole host of new car terms for people to learn. All you need in life are Zip ties, some WD-40 and some electrical tape. Those 3 alone solve about 80% of the world’s problems.
That's pretty much word for word what I was imagining.
Hey Erin and the rest of Jalopnik staff, keep up the great work! I’ve spent all of my high school and now into college years reading through this website pretty much every day. We appreciate all of your work and don’t wanna lose anymore of you <3. I can’t do anything about your evil corporate overlords but I can wish…
I’m so on the fence about it. I really love the way it looks, but it also feels like something society won’t accept. It reminds me of the early Mercedes R-Class concept.
