So what? Why do you say that like it matters? When you make excuses like this, you’re essentially saying that you are okay with police officers being less able to deal with a belligerent public than a 15-year-old McDonald’s employee.

I came in here reading this as if it could be the replacement for the Pebble Time Round that is currently on my wrist. But I don’t think so. I just want another Pebble...
Yeah. I also thought Pebble could have survived if they licensed their software to the Timexs and Casios of the world. Mainly, i just miss Pebble.
O.J. and Neilsen together being the common thread tying “Poseidon” and “Inferno” into the greater Zucker, Abrahams and Zucker cinematic universe.
To be fair, Hanks’s real life didn’t feature hookers, drugs and sex with donkeys. Belushi, on the other hand...
Maybe it really is time we stop giving white people who seek to weaponize the police against Black people cutesy little nicknames like “BBQ Becky” or “Central Park Karen.”
Here’s what gets me about the AV Club. They’re all about being kind and understanding and progressive (which is a good thing), but underneath it there’s still this subdermal layer of nastiness with stuff like this. Yes, this person is acting foolishly, but why tape it and share it? And if you’re a successful media…
Whenever I do anything stupid in public—or something gross, like picking my nose or farting- I worry some asshole is going to record it on their phone and upload it to YouTube.
Thank you. Wasps would never have a house that tacky, a wife over 129 lbs and they only keep guns for quail hunting and suicide.
OK. First of all, fuck you for trying to muddy up the waters by claiming that the protesters were chanting to “burn it all down” or were specifically threatening these people or their home. That is not true. That is a lie and you are garbage.
But you are more than garbage, you are stupid. You are using the scraps of…
karen there brandishing (felony?) with her finger on the trigger of her .380 barretta and Bob who obviously has never actually fired that AR.
if they were a black couple the cops would have fast roped in from a special ops stealth helo and had a contest to see who could put the most bullets in them while simultaneously…
i think it’s very hard to deliberately make a cult movie. imho, a cult movie is made by the viewers. i would think that most (if not all) directors really believe in what they’re doing & take it very seriously & would want others too, as well. how can you be invested in your art if you want people to laugh at what you…
Uhhhh You know she’s white right? Aint no cops gonna come arrest her for that shit. They’d probably give her training on the spot to help. I can hear this bitches voice at a fucking restaurant sending something back because it’s too hot and how the waiter is an idiot. God damn it makes my blood boil.
It can be two things.
To be fair, Gone With the Wind was removed and then returned with cultural context later. These other removals might follow a similar pattern, it’s just that they need time to add in the context and they don’t want to leave themselves open to criticism by leaving the episode up while they work on that.
It’s more that I prefer to give the benefit of the doubt. I do not like mob mentality, especially in a case like this.
Coming from the other side, I have a biological father who, for his own reasons, has denied our kinship in public to people on several occasions, all involving money, none (to my knowledge) to protect me from any kind of harm.
I have given birth to none. I have fostered seven in my home. I have financially supported two Africans throughout their childhood. I am auntie to none by blood, I am auntie to at least 10 otherwise. I have pics of Japanese, Ethiopian and Caucasian kids on my mantel right now. But I take great care NOT to elevate…
“We’re back. Ready for round 2!” I loved this movie and I loved this soundtrack. 1999-2000 were about the happiest years of my life, in retrospect. I was a college sophomore, just the right age to have my mind blown by this movie. Maybe it would come off as a bit silly nowadays, but watching it, dissecting it with my…
I love this movie so much - probably a top 5 for me precisely because it’s such a strange mess that’s clearly someone putting their subconscious love of narrative songs on film. This movie was also the first time I really paid attention to the delightful John C. Reilly after seeing him in side parts in The River Wild &…
