Yes, searing doesn't seal in juices. Harold McGee was first to prove that. But it is essential for flavor.

I love products that are simultaneously great and ridiculous.
Love the idea of using clarified butter (ghee). Will try that soon.
Nice fix for an immediate problem. A real lens cap is just a couple of bucks. Eg:
For what it’s worth, I used nothing with my iPhone 3 and in four years, had just a couple of small scratches. The newer iPhones use a harder glass than that so I am completely naked now.
#corrections: "It's very, very simply." and "if you wanted to writer more long-form posts..."
Dark chocolate is more dangerous because it contains more theobromine. A lot more, generally.
It's already very automatic. Drag the URL to the Skitch icon and it goes to the URL and snaps the page.
When Fluffy get's into the Kisses, don't panic. Chocolate is not as lethal as some folks fear. Your dog needs to consume massive amounts of milk chocolate. Smaller amounts of dark chocolate are lethal but still quite a bit. The lethal dose depends on the type of chocolate and weight of the dog. If it happens, search…
No worries. No one here needs to shoot you. Your wife will take care of it.
For use in the field, I have used a cord clipped to my tripod's center post. When you need stability, you step on the cord. It works and doesn't require you to carry a weight.
I disagree with the advice that you have to to spend $150. You do want something solid but it depends how you use it. Used carefully, even a cheap tripod will work. As you spend more, you get more sturdiness, better weight-sturdiness tradeoff, convenience features that make it faster to set up and use.

Great points, well explained.
You're right, thanks.
Thank you for your comment. We're all glad to know you are superior.
I like this idea but I agree, only for lightweight items. The labels in the photo are great examples: sporting goods, pool toys, etc. I also would worry about doing this here in earthquake country.
Yeah, this one is shady. And lazy reporting.
I agree on 3. Amazing ideas that have -zero- evidence are my favorite time wasters.
