I have to give props to Lyn for one thing — great support. I reported a glitch in how it handles my Aperture lib and the developer responded immediately (then again when I did not answer right away) — very, very eager to understand and fix the issue.

You won't find out from Adam. In the original article he made some sweeping generalizations about Lightroom and Aperture — looks like he had never tried either: "If you're really serious about your photos, you may prefer managing them with the pricey, more professional Aperture or Lightroom. Aperture is like iPhoto

"International Organization for Standardization." Not very helpful, is it!

You do have to first pick a brand because once you start buying lenses, you are largely locked in. Canon is great but there are others.

Slow shutter speed is the problem and in low light. it's hard to combat. A faster ISO setting is the simplest fix. On the back of the camera, see where is says ISO above the ring? Press the ring there, and choose a higher number (say, 800).

Filmic Pro

Gee, nice language.

Glad you caught that. It made me cringe.

You seriously think he was probably doing as he was told and then got canned because he was "sacrificed"? Wow.

I agree with the ex-postal worker who replied. Our letter carriers have mostly been great and on the two occasions where they weren't a phone call straightened it out. "Overworked and tired" is an attitude issue. If your local PO gives you an unsatisfactory answer, take it up the chain.

Funny!

Too bad it couldn't repel the ugly stain in the middle of the apron.

Reminds me of a writer's advice from long ago: Never stop at the end of a chapter. Leave at least a few sentences undone. Then when you return, you can get your momentum back.

Try it. When I was a (very) scrawny kid, I could open jars no one else could. That's how I did it. When you make your hand and wrist rigid, the grip is tighter.

Settings, I believe. This is a one-trick pony, fairly simple settings. Hijack Pro has (as I recall, been a while since I use it) timed and delayed recording, ability to record in a huge range of formats and quality levels.

Thing is, local service varies. Take advantage of the 14-day trial period and see how it if for you in your locations. For me, AT&T is fine (as were Verizon and Sprint when I had those services).

To open a jar, don't bend your wrist. Grab the jar and make your wrist rigid, move your whole arm at the elbow and shoulder. Imagine your forearm as a lever.

Where did you find the mount that lets you attache a Minolta lens to a Canon EOS. Me want!!!!

It's a popular thing to say, and it's always easy to find examples of overreaching, but I think that most of the "politically correct" changes improved our society.

A good point — I was trying to be funny. I do flick the solder, but on the workbench, where it's easily cleaned up. But lead is dangerous and the copper mesh idea from @acidrain69 is a much better idea.
