@bobbo33: Your point is valid but this is not the best example. You're assuming the research is mere epidemiology that only shows correlation. I'm no expert but I believe the research is more advanced than that.

Noise-reducing headphones are the key. I use in-ear headphones rather than active noise-reduction. They plug up the ears well enough.

As a manager, I agree — no gifts, please. It's awkward to accept a gift and hard to refuse the gift because I don't want to hurt any feelings. A card or a note are fine.

@5erge: No worries, they're all over at ThiefHackers.

@stationx: Apparently you've never had anyone ask if this dress made their butt look big.

@tobylane: The Scosche fm-mod02 mentioned in another post is one.

@pschroeter: I wish I could promote your comment again.

@PrairieMoon: Simple. I promote comments that add to the discussion in a significant way. Might mean that it's wise or knowledgeable. Or that it's diplomatically correcting something that's wrong, or calming down something inflammatory.

@Nitesh: That's funny. I read this as 'hot to make my parents malware-proof.'

@unwritten_law9: Backup server. Set them to come on at night, backup everything in your house to external HD and/or cloud storage.

Need a new hard disk for my three-year-old MacBook Pro. Looking at the 500GB Seagate Momentus XT 7200. I like its speed but information on power consumption and battery life is suspiciously hard to find. Lots of reviews with mixed messages (and some don't sound very credible).

These questions are better than nothing but after you have decided that the job is working for you, you can ask whether what you are doing is working for your work team, the shareholders, and customers.

Sending a WWF document tells people you believe, "people can't be trusted to make the right choices. We know better. So we will not allow you the choice."

If you're not using another launcher/dock app, DragThing is worth considering. Create docks and palettes with any app or file, lots more.

Unless I am missing something, it's easier than this. On the plain old God Box page:
