@litarider: A short brine in higher concentration is slightly different — you have more salt at the surface, less penetrates. The penetration is not hugely important, as brine doesn't go very deep. But the surface salt matters. Recommended for all brines is a quick rinse at the end.

@CougarAries: True — worse than that, actually, since brining these will often make the meat horribly salty.

When they are really dirty, I toss them in the wash. Even pricey running shoes come through it fine.

@drongch: " I wonder how much of this perception trick is lost when you know about it?"

@evilspoons: LOL. He probably changed it when someone told him his PIN of "1234" wasn't a good idea.

Bummah.

@ChipSuey: Me too. I love my worm composting.

@rogowar: Yes. And costs less than a French Press plus this gadget.

I "third" the Aeropress recommendation. I have an article on it:

@Bakari: Well, yeah, but then you have no candy.

@harryhoody: It most certainly can scratch. I will not use it again on the polished lids of my All-Clad. The scratching wasn't very bad but it did indeed scratch.

@almostinfocus: It sounds like it's faster. I often skip Evernote because, including app launch time, it takes 10 seconds or more to create a note, longer to access a previous note. (That's with a 3G.)

I have a bag holder something like this:

@Thomas Pettigrew: It scratches porcelain. I would not use it on Teflon surfaces.

Great stuff. Note that it scratches so use it on sinks only when you need it and be gentle when using it on mirror-finish cookware.

The new fonts are cool but looks like the whole font is pulled down, which means a load of 35K or more (often much more) added to the first page that uses them.

I have a simple two-step process.

@Architectin: The clips come in sizes. Should work with the biggest ones.
