And what do you know? Those X360 games emulated on XBO had plenty of frame drops and lags. Considering the PS4's CPU isn’t as fast as the XBO’s, I’d say emulation would be even worse.

360 =/= PS3. The Cell processor was notoriously difficult to deal with, which explains why it’s taken this long for anyone to emulate it at a decent speed. Trying to get it running on what is essentially entry-level PC gaming hardware from 4 years ago is going to be next to impossible, and considering Sony’s current

If it ends up running at like 5fps or crashing all the time (which is what I expect would probably happen) then I’d argue that it’s considerably worse. And I don’t think any company would roll out a feature like that if it didn’t perform at least as well as original hardware. We’ll wait and see if the PS5 is capable

They’re only able to get it running this well on high-end PCs. The PS4 is a mid-to-low-end PC from 3 years ago. Even if Sony created an emulator that works with the x64 architecture the PS4 uses, the sheer processing power necessary to run that emulator at full speed is likely beyond what the PS4 is capable of.

Well, there have been 3DS themes that pay homage to all of Sega’s consoles, including the Dreamcast. I don’t see why the PS4 couldn’t join in on the fun, other than just a lack of interest on Sega’s part.

Are you seriously so full of yourself that you literally can’t comprehend that someone could actually have a different opinion than you? Is it seriously so hard to believe that someone might watch the film and come to the conclusion that it sucks without “following the herd”?

Are you gonna call that Shadow of the Colossus remake a “13-year-old game”? Because it’s the same basic situation. Same underlying gameplay, but overhauled graphics.

In handheld mode. When docked, it runs at 900p. And why would they try and run the game at a higher resolution than 720p in handheld mode when the screen itself is 720p? That just seems like a waste of resources.

Technically, it’s a slightly cut-down version of a 1-year-old remaster of a 6-year-old game.

Fighting Layer was a spin-off of Street Fighter EX featuring the new characters Arika created for EX, which Capcom didn’t own. Fighting Layer and EX have very similar gameplay, to the point that Fighting Layer is often considered an unofficial entry in the EX series.

Thanks for correcting me on the Dissida games, by the way. I admittedly don’t really follow fighting games a ton, but yes, I’d be all for Square doing those because at least that is trying to keep some semblance of continuity, not just “Hey, here’s Street Fighter... with a special appearance by Dio Brando! It’s ZA

...That’s a drawing.

Considering they’re partnering with the fucking Minions guys, I expect we’ll be getting gibberish.

Now playing

Never implied that I expected a new mainline Final Fantasy game out already, so I don’t know where you got that impression. What I’m going for is “Don’t just make them cash grabs in random games, it waters your property’s value down.”

To be fair, XV is also an outlier in terms of development. Most FFs take a few years, yes, but ten is certainly an anomaly.

Square’s decision to essentially pimp the thing and turn it into a whole franchise as opposed to just, you know, making another fucking Final Fantasy like they used to is one of those cases where greed has clearly won out over quality.

Since almost 99% of the show is sung, you can basically follow the plot just by listening to the soundtrack.

I can’t even imagine how Uma Thurman must feel right now. Her two biggest movies were Weinstein productions (Pulp Fiction and Kill Bill).

It runs really poorly, and has slightly worse graphics overall (no animated water, color’s all messed up), but it does have extra content. And even funnier glitches.
