Considering that MH has been stuck on handhelds for years, the Switch has no real competition in the handheld space, and Capcom already has an exclusivity deal with Nintendo, I’d be shocked if MHV wasn’t a Switch exclusive. Technically, you had 3 Ultimate, but that was still a remaster of a Wii game. I imagine this will have some good upgrades over the 3DS version, but MHV will be closer to what you want.

A stylus would also get in the way of the screen. Even if the game didn’t require much dexterity, a virtual d-pad would feel awful, because they always feel awful.

Adapting Phantom Hourglass’ controls would still be a far better option than using an onscreen d-pad.
