This is why SS should be optional. I would much rather take that money and put it into my 401k or investment accounts and a) know the money will be there when I retire, and b) actually accrue some extra value instead of losing 25%.

It doesn’t. Google Now on iOS is a pale imitation of Google Now on Android. Still far better than Siri, though. . .

Google now has been utilizing this for at least 1.5 years. Does it have an article, just wondering? If not, I think it deserves one. It can do walking, transit, cycling, or driving.

The Google app has been doing this for a long time now (I use Google Calendar and it syncs with my local iOS calendar) and Waze will as well if your local calendar events have locations in them. It can be fun to have 3 different predictions about when to leave show up on your phone.

The whole idea of lighting a cigarette in a car seems somehow old-fashioned to me, something from an old movie :)

Useful if you’re staking out a mobster in the 70's.

So you can light your cigarettes while parked with the car off, I guess.

What’s the idea of leaving the 12v energized when the car is off? (No key in ignitionn)

Isn’t this, and T-Mo’s similar option with “sponsored” streaming services getting basically priority access to customers through data cap exemptions the kind of shit the FCC was trying to prevent from happening?

If you need to stop using credit cards to avoid paying interest that’s fine, but I’ve had a credit card since I was 18 (and before that as part of my parent’s account) and have never paid an interest fee. Credit cards have a lot of advantages over debit cards like extended warranties, cash back (2% on all purchases

Couldn't bother yourself to read the whole thing before criticizing it?

In Indiana, at least as of 2013, only one person needed to know you were being recorded via audio or video. That one person, of course, would be the one doing the recording. Public or Private property...

This only works for Dropcam and Withings devices. Which is better than nothing, for sure, and they’re pretty common, but don’t feel totally safe just because you ran the script. It wouldn’t work on the Wansview I use.

because no-one doing an airbnb with hidden wi-fi cameras are going to go through the trouble of setting up a secondary or guest wifi hotspot for their apparently untrustworthy guests... I mean, many decent routers let you set up dual networks practically trivially.

This just recently happened to me, so I thought I’d share.

You just described most SJW/BLM/and other extreme liberal movements. Especially step 3.

Ya, miserable is totally what people who buy their financial independence at 30/40-something feel. Let us know how 50-something Samantha feels about money while still working.

Not only do you save more by living that way, but people are less likely to hit you up for money, so you get to avoid that wonderfully awkward conversation.

You’re right. Practically no one cares about their money until it’s too late to make a meaningful difference in their retirement outlook. (The 51 year old saying he should have started doing smart things with his money only at 36 being a prime example.)

Well done!!
