Almost nobody questions the car’s greatness. Almost everyone questions the drivers' greatness.

Tom is not suggesting anyone should borrow money they don’t have.

Yes, you’re the reason people make bad decisions.

So the 7% my investments earn is worth less than the 1.9% I’d be paying on a car loan? I’m confused. Please explain.

People like you are the reason people, despite the myriad information and resources out there, still make bad decisions with their money.

So i should pay cash on a 40k car when they offer me 0% for 72 months? My 40k in the worst savings acct i have, 1% will make roughly 400 in interest the 1st year. That is 2400 in interest over 6 years in a basic saving acct.

No. My current car loan is 0% interest.

That really depends on what you consider to be debt.

How would I save more money by paying cash on my new car versus a 0% loan over 60 months?

So “your money will do more for you elsewhere” is not a good reason?

If you have a low interest rate on the loan and can invest the cash in something that has a higher return, then yes it would make sense.

This isn’t a hard and fast rule in either direction. The one simple rule is this: Do the math. Yes, there are actually times when it may be cheaper for you, the consumer, to take the loan rather than pay in cash. You can’t put that out as blanket advice. As mentioned above and discussed extensively in one of the articles linked up there, there are times when it makes sense to finance even though you have the cash.

There is an interesting point that was mentioned here, that women are more sensitive to grades. I think this is more a of problem to everyone since as a whole we focus too much on grades, vs learning the material. STEM fields are definitely more rigorous than say something like cultural studies, but if they don’t have

I don’t have any issue with bikes, but your attitude hear does nothing but harm to other bikers. The law and rules of the road still apply to you. Your bike does not give you a free pass to ignore certain laws because you feel like it.

“You probably don’t ride, so you don’t understand the unquenchable urge that riding gives you to act like an entitled dickhead on the road.”

$2.5 million or New York? That’s quite low compared to what I discovered.

My FA did the math, and to maintain the same style of living that Mrs. Octavius and I have now, it would cost more than DOUBLE that. (And that’s including Social Security)

Bought a $50 Hoover at Wal mart when I moved out at 19. It was great for 13 years.

Bingo!
