I'd have to agree, reading your articles is very much so like reading about somebodies life. And even if they portray a you that isn't real, its hard to not connect and see you as someone we are getting to know, not someone just writing articles.

I was a scout growing up. I do remember the oaths we'd take during the meetings and then proceed to make sure everyone was straight and if we found a gay person, we'd hog tie them and leave them for dead out in the wilderness. Oh wait that never happened.
Sure we may not have had any gay kids or leaders in my…
My yellow Philmont Nalgene is on my office desk as we speak.
Mt. Baldy was awesome! I still want to go back as an adult and do the Tooth of Time. My 60 year old dad still goes on trips out there. Simply amazing country.
I like the hell out of this. The Scouts have gotten so much bad press of late that very few inside the organization understand why it's worth it and not outdated. Well said, and well done.
Thanks for writing this. I think the Boy Scouts get a lot of bad press from people who are upset about the politics but fail to see the good it does for the kids in the organization. I'm glad my son is in Cub Scouts and plans to go in to Boy Scouts regardless of the politics that people try to tie to the…
Wes, the more of your articles I read and the more I learn about you, the more impressed I am. Keep the articles coming, I enjoy reading them.
I've been reading since your first week, but this is my first time commenting. I enjoy what you've written so far, particularly product reviews and gear recommendations. This article was especially great. As an Eagle Scout, I completely connect to your experiences and how those skills and values continue to shape my…
Agree with all this. Scouts was fucking great, even though I started to loathe some of the work when I was making that last push towards getting Eagle. Sticking with it was one of the best decisions I think I ever made though. Being able to have a connection with another Eagle scout is so fucking fantastic.
Wait....what? You have a 'Windows Phone?' What the fuck is that???
Reshaping an island within your territory is one thing but reclaiming land in disputed territory which is only 50 miles from the Philippines and 1,000 miles from them is just a d*ck move.
It will be nice to finally get something new from Apple. Aside from the fingerprint sensor there hasn't been anything innovative from them for a really long time. It's all been new coats of paint and bigger engines running the same basic grid of icons.
They already had a wearable. It's called the Nano.
Little skeptical. I think you give the government waaaaaay too much credit here.
Survival of the fittest, that's how evolution works right? Get rid of the weak and unworthy to live by natural selection? We shouldn't interfere with that. They made their stupid choices, let them kill themselves, not my problem and my money shouldn't pay for their food or treatment. I chose my path, so did they.
awesome
If you believe that 9/11 and the Vietnam War are remotely comparable in their impact on human history then that would have been possible. The relative scope, cost and grandiosity of the memorials to the two events accurately depicts their importance.
Wow, just wow. It is normal to cry over this? i'm not even north american.
Cut welfare to drug addicts a little bit and that'll pay for it in 6 months.
I just visited NYC and the site for the first time last week. As someone who never had been to NYC it was especially moving. To stand in that memorial and think that the two towers that I had only seen in movies and on the news that day once stood there was totally humbling. To be amongst weeping family members…
