What about when German officials told women they would have to change how they dress and act to accommodate North African/Middle Eastern migrants? Did they report that? No. What about Germany censoring online language and media about the attacks? No.

Oh, good. So this has been the only new development in the story. Glad to know. Of course, since you probably get 99% of your news from Gawker/Jezebel, you would think that.

Think about it: Every time something new comes up in the Cosby case, Jezebel is all over it. With this, not even close to so much.

Yes, nearly two months later. A lot has happened since then. You would think Jezebel would be all over a mass sexual assault case, but like with Rotherham, they’ve remained oddly muted, reporting only benignly on it at random intervals rather than the full-fledged outrage machine that occurs over something like the

Okay fine. They did the bare minimum and wrote that it happened. But they did very little follow-up on the new information.

But their “gross, racist generalizations” are correct: Middle Eastern/North African migrants/immigrants/citizens in Europe are far more likely to commit sexual assault than the host European populations. This is as true as saying men are far more likely to commit crime than women.

“This whole shitshow started when the city of Cologne, and the police, intentionally tried to keep the assaults out of the media, because they knew the xenophobic right was going to take the story and run with it and use it to turn people against refugees”

Sigh. I can see you won’t change your opinion from your other comments, but anyone who has read Jezebel for a while can see that the level of outrage about these attacks was incredibly muted in comparison to other stories involving rape/sexual assault.

They didn’t cover it because the people committing sexual assault didn’t fit the profile of people they want to be committing sexual assault.
