I work for PG&E- all the information we had and the press had was that the guns were likely semi-automatic weapons. Nothing official referred to Ak-47s. That's just an easy to name, scary-sounding gun.

Electric distribution lines are often undergrounded in new developments and in cities, but those are much lower voltage than transmission lines. There are a lot of reasons why electric transmission lines and substations aren't often underground- it's very expensive, not safer, requires a lot of land, requires more

That would be a pretty awesome way to die. You can absolutely get electrocuted this way.

I work for PG&E. This was a PG&E facility, and we were all sent emails from the company immediately after this happened. The company works with the DHS and FBI when stuff like this happens because utility infrastructure is considered critical infrastructure and a high value target for terrorism, vandalism, etc. I work

Rapist.

If by "unbelievably beautiful" you mean bone-dry and brown, then yeah, that's what it's like here. This is terrible winter in California.

Also a grad school survivor, and I have those school dreams all the time.

My boyfriend has twice screamed in his sleep, waking me up- in the first dream, he was in the mountains at his dad's house, and an African lion was stalking him. It pounced, and he screamed. In the other one, he was being stalked by a motorcycle (no rider, just the bike), and it sped up to run him over, and he started

Sleep paralysis.

YES. And I'll spend the whole day trying to find my classes until some point, usually right before I wake up, when I realize that I have a master's degree and emphatically do not need to redo high school.

I have that school dream at least once a week. Either high school or college, and it's always that I have a final for a class I've never gone to.

Oh, I've had those. They are always terrible. I've never had a pregnancy dream in which I was happy to be pregnant. They usually involve terror at being denied an abortion.

My bad dreams tend to be recurring themes of three things: school (high school or college), plane crashes, or tsunamis. I've never had a relationship dream, unless it was a sex dream.

But the boneyard is also home to planes that have been dismantled and can never be returned to service. It's airplane pick and pull.

Well, Davis-Monthan, the home of the "boneyard", is a mix of ready-reserve planes and fully retired plans that are used solely for scrap, so it's not inaccurate.

Maybe CalFire and other firefighting units in other states can buy them, since the firefighting aircraft in service now are decrepit deathtraps.

Can't tell if you're being sarcastic.

For a toy that's supposed to be the answer to all the girly, gendered toys out there, the GoldieBlox toys are sure girly- ribbons, lots of pink and purple...how about a non-gendered toy like Lincoln Logs or TinkerToys?

This is heartbreaking. It's too bad she couldn't have Father Bypass Surgery. That's what she really needed.
