I wish I knew that the day when standing in rain jostling with 3 other pedestrians on the corner of 34th and 6th Ave, to try and flag down the one yellow cab which was approaching every 10 mins. Only for it to stop and say, “no I’m not going to the burbs”, and move on to the next guy.

Throws up a lot of interesting progressions to this feature.

Unfortunately, good intentions don’t solve a systematic problem. Moving over to a higher wage policy/laws from an arbitrarily and inconsistently applied tipping culture, is the best way forward.

Not to mention it’s 20% irrespective of service, good or bad. Because apparently there is no justification for rewarding a server who goes out of the way for you, over one who mixes up your order.

LMAO!

Note to self: Anytime in the future when I am in one of those “I have no life” moments, remember this guy and feel better.

The biggest takeaway from this incident is a lesson for us at a personal level. NEVER make conclusions about something without a follow-up read.

No. A white dude gets to decide what ANY population gets to use. All above board.

If only hypothetical scenarios were comparable to actual events!

This. Steam knows consumers are going to pay with their wallets. Lower prices on Epic would be the one thing that might have moved the needle.

Introducing exclusivity agreements that limit consumers' options for purchasing a game - sounds like the opposite of competition.

Consumer neutral? If Epic had ramped up their launcher to be remotely comparable to Steam before beginning shooting their mouths off, then we could have talked about consumer neutral.

Late night White House visitors, please take note.

This. I loved ‘Get Out’, but this was a mess of a script, flipping between jump scares and humor. The underground act stretched far too long and was profoundly unsatisfying. The ‘twist’ seemed shoehorned. Overall the movie lands close to ‘Mother!’ territory, beginning like a cracker of a story, gradually easing into

Storefronts have two customers - game developers and game purchasers. Making your game exclusive means there can’t be competition in terms of purchasers.

Driving for Uber or Lyft is always going to be a side gig. Driving full time on a side gig will not earn you the same as a full time job.

Doubt doesn't answer anything. Investigative journalism does, like it had. So let's leave speculation to those who can follow it up with due process,

You began your thread by saying that Netflix owes you an answer to reveal the criteria for its recommendations.

Netflix is absolutely not required to share it’s recommender algorithm. That’s its own IP and a potential source of competitive advantage.

I would say the biggest deterrent to an alien invasion today, is the unfortunate prospect of having to meet 'our leader', and be greeted with hamdergers.
