@Benito ~ I still drive excitement.: My first brand new car was an '89 Beretta, and while I drove that thing mercilessly to its 175,000-mile demise, I still have to scratch my head in puzzlement over why the heck anyone would want a RWD 8-cyl B-Rate-a.

@tonyola: I remember all the buzz about the Fairmont when it was still forthcoming. I was stunned when they finally unveiled the car — this boring thing is what all the hubbub was about?

A flaccid chassis and too little engine to move around this much car. Ugh.

I love this. I'd love to own this, even though my knees would touch the dash no matter how far back I scoot the seat. But eight thousand dollars? Nernt.

The first thing I ever drove was a white '78 Chevy van much like this one. It had manual steering, stiff and tight. One night, someone spray painted "Iron Maiden" in green on the driver's side. We drove it around like that for a few years.

My 1983 Renault Alliance MT (for Motor Trend Car of the Year) was pretty bad. 0-60 in 45 seconds, no kidding.

The big brown UPS truck, ever since one almost mowed me down, back in the 5th grade.

$3,500 for a new 5-speed transmission in my 2003 Toyota Matrix. Eight months later, I totalled the car in an accident. #qotd

I love the '68-69 Chevelle front end. One of the best looking Chevy ever did. It looks especially swell clipped to this ElCam. The faux vinyl roof ... well, there were better choices. #1969

The Nash Rambler. It worked once before. #qotd

@tonyola: Didn't know they even made these in a panel delivery! #wagoneer

@tonyola: I was astonished to see the original front end there, too! And props on the photo of the original two-door configuration. #wagoneer

'89 Corolla SR5 coupe, 175,000 miles. It was actually my (ex-)wife's. It was very loose, but showed no signs of ill health, when we sold it. We traded it on a Sienna XLE minivan — shoulda kept the old Corolla. #qotd

Easiest QOTD ever! #qotd

Good lord, why?

Man, the poor guy looks like he's about to cry. #buell

@TheGuinnessTooth: They installed them all over the place in Hamilton County, Indiana. I can't tell you how many times I've watched people stop inside the things to let others in. So yeah, they sort of do need some explaining for the newbs.

@carlivar: I knew a guy who owned one of these with a manual transmission. He was the kind of guy who always bought manuals. Now, during the northern Indiana winter, lake effect snow and all, this guy was the only one whistling when he came in to work. But in the summers, he lamented the manual transmission, saying

@Wes Siler: The 09 Rabbit's interior volume is 94 cu ft, which qualifies as a subcompact per federal regs. Midsizers start at 110 cu ft.
