I don’t understand why they didn’t just make this the new TT. It’s small, it’s light, and it could have a five cylinder. No need for it to be a supercar.

I assume it improves brake cooling. There has always been a tradeoff in wheels between aero and brake cooling. This allows you to have more cooling for the times you need it and more aero for the times you don’t.

I’ll bet the Mazda 6 wagon would sell if it had AWD. See Subaru.

I would say that their concentration on design neglected the engineering.

I agree with the points above, but this arrangement also makes AWD very straightforward. If you put the engine behind the front axle, you need a propshaft on one side to bring the power back up to the front wheels. With the engine ahead of the front axle, it can send power to all four wheels sans propshaft.

Actually, it is more like four door Camaro. Same platform, same engine.

Are you for real, or is this a troll? No one even got hurt, except a Jeep. Humans are so much safer today than we were at any point in history. The idea that people shouldn’t be allowed to voluntarily risk their lives or their vehicles to do something that they want to do is sickening.
