Everyone looking away in shame sold it for me.

That and how he MacGyver his ability to see the demon, and how they kept it still mostly hidden.

Wow, can't say I agree with this review at all. No mention of the great church scene? No mention of how well the show does at hiding its boogeyman villain until the right time?

I don't know, the fact that he kept specifically saying "they are ruining my hobby" while being in completely denial about people doing terrible shit felt like a direct shot at #GamerGate. I'm guessing that's the most they'll do, at least for now.

I didn't really think it was the "end" of it. They just didn't have an exact way to link back to last week's episode so they broke the fourth wall and acknowledged it was happening.

So am I the only one that noticed Butters' dad was a parody/satire of #GamerGate? He repeatedly kept talking about "his hobby" being ruined by ghosts and making crazy connections to try and prove it.

It was a meta joke. "There's not a real thing to hold on to" is a reference to a lot of people's complaints with South Park over the past few seasons - it's just gotten too whacky to outside of the town of South Park to really care about it.
