Watching the marathon this weekend, I was surprised at how much I liked some of the early to mid '80s sketches. I thought people like Kazurinsky and Gross are definitely underrated.

Exactly, between "Gilly" "The Target Lady" and all her other awful characters that dominated the show during the end of her run, I almost stopped watching. Nobody was happier she was gone than me.

I disagree, I watched some "Coneheads" two days ago on the marathon and I thought it was hilarious. To me, watching the first 5 years (all before I was even born) made me realize what the show is lacking today. . . spontaneity.

They have been great in everything they've done for the show AND I like the fact that the Daily Show promotes from WITHIN(Colbert, Wilmore).
