It’s weird to think that they’re family. The first one could be your 115-greats granduncle, the last one could be your 73rd cousin 15 times removed. Anyway, they’re your family and mine. (Hey cuz!)

If I remember the Highlander TV series well there were some child immortals in history. They tended to lose the head fast though.

I recall doing the faunal analysis for 1500 year old First Nations site in southern Ontario (about 35 years ago), and finding a puppy skeleton in close proximity to a child burial. Company in the afterlife I assume, but tough luck for the puppy.

It’s weird to think that if those kids had survived their childhood to be alive today, they’d be, like, crazy-old by now.

Nah man. If I’m a creator you’ve stopped supporting over this, I’m blaming you.

I mean, don’t get me wrong, I’m blaming them *too*. I’m probably shopping around for other options (and I am right now). But you aren’t getting any more special goodies from me. You aren’t getting an “I totally understand” pass.

You’re

There is literally no struggle at all. You choose who you are or aren’t supporting on patreon. It’s not their job to manage this for you. I think it’s time for you to grow up and learn how to do things on your own.

How many eye rolls at your bank do you think you got? I’m sure your email is circulating around with a lot of “lols” attached.

Because if they aren’t producing what you like, you can cancel? It’s just like anything else you pay money for.

I see you don’t know what the word “exclusively” means.

I don’t think I know better, but you clearly do as you have laid that out here.

You know Patreon creators make content exclusively for their patrons, right? I am literally exchanging money for goods and services, Homer.

Do you not buy entertainment products? I subscribe to a podcast for $5/month, which gets me a new episode of the podcast every week. How is this a concept that resembles a scam to you?

Oh god... OH NO! I am spending an extra $3.80 for ten web comics that I enjoy supporting. HOW HORRIBLE! That just breaks the fucking bank! Sorry, but if you can spend $10 a month, you can spend $13.80... but you don’t have to now, so its moot.

i dont know, i have a lot of people who donate small amounts and their donations mean just as much to me as the larger ones. because i know everyone puts in what they know they can afford for something like this - it’s valuable to me.

A company admitting fault and reversing their move should be this amazing thing. It’s good they did so but the faceless lack of accountability on the internet usually leads to overreacting and lies. Good on them for doing right eventually but your being overly dramatic.

“All mistakes should instantly be punished with [corporate/career/political/actual] death.”

But...but...but... corporate greed or some shit! AMIRITE?! Fuck them and I guess, especially now, fuck those artists. Since they are now the losers if there are people like Ardent around.

Dude - it’s a couple bucks by your own admission. You’re not toppling your empire here. By your logic (in for a penny, in for a pound) if I scratch an itch its the same as scratching myself to the bone. They’re not “trusting an unreliable fiscal intermediary” with their retirement fund - they’re trusting them with a

Yeah, why leave room for the possibility that people and corporations make mistakes? All mistakes should instantly be punished with corporate death - that’ll certainly encourage other innovators to step into the space and meet your not-at-all shrill, petulant demands.

Company tries to streamline something. Goes over poorly. CEO apologizes and they don’t move forward with the program. The “fuck the little people, go corporate” is your injecting something into the roll-out that I didn’t see as the motive, so that is your bias.
