The whole marketing package is "get me an Amy Schumer talk show". Yes! Ronin was awesome for that factor. Fast cars, driven well, can still look thrilling. Even more so. if you've ever been over 120 MPH in a production car, you know it feels way different than the blood-and-feathers spectacle that stunt drivers exhibit at low speed.

Plus that scene was full-speed. They didn't undercrank the camera (which Bond movies were still doing in 1987). Everything that looks fast is actually fast.
