There's Trigun material I haven't seen!? *Rushes off to Google*

GACK you got me! I read it in Pops' voice and a big grin came over my face.

God forbid.

It's easy enough to keep a copy of your files (saves and everything), then update, and revert back with no repercussions, so long as you have the original files and unmodified saves. You can easily use this method to try new updates without risking losing anything.

I do hope you're right. It's a shame that such a fascinating variety of culture is so oppressed (to wildly varying degrees). And the latest developments between Hong Kong and the mainland worrying as well. I can only hope that this is just temporary growing pains stemming from the reclamation of Hong Kong from Britain.

Try turning off auto-updating for Skyrim. It's not possible.

Aren't we the optimist ;]

+1 for letting people think and decide for themselves. However if you think that is ideal, then really, you should be letting them do their own shopping around as well, which means you would have never said anything in the first place.

Also agreed. This is Lifehacker. We even have a dedicated "Evil Week". I don't follow this site because of anything to do with ethics.

This all depends on the term you're considering. Yes, in the short term, depriving corporates of money is likely to put jobs at risk. However in the long term, you're sending a message that perhaps bloated corporate chains are doing something wrong. Perhaps those jobs shouldn't have existed in the first place,

As much as I would love for this to work, you're only kidding yourself. Because then you have a bunch of your workforce wasting man hours looking for nonexistent cake.

Unlike with games on Steam, no one forced you to update Minecraft after you thoroughly read the release notes for the changes. Just sayin.

Missing the point. The original source may have used it this way, but this tech can be applied to much more than just "turn on peripherals when the computer turns on."

Depends on your power settings. If it's hibernating then yes, there's wouldn't be any power to anything. Sleep states can vary depending on configuration.

I assume you're speaking politically. Having been there, China is already a pretty cool place, culturally. Far more than pretty cool actually.

In other news, laughing outlawed by Catholic Church.

Or you know, just eat the Benjamin and save himself the possibility of ruining his entire life.

Too lazy ATM to hack a search engine. Considering China is above the equator I'd go with that.

There will always be someone who goes to the extreme. Look at "Minimalist for Everything". It's configurable of course, but you can configure it to hide almost everything in the unified Google interface these days.

Seems like it will be handy for browsing Apt. prices. However I'm trying to do so right now and using Chrome, I get a small pop-up overlay saying "updating results..." that won't go away when filtering to my location. This appears to interfere with other navigation on the site including the sorting functions. Still
