no, do you?

She wasn't lying when she said corruption was how the Soviet Union functioned. I mean it was mostly so people could enrich themselves but a state bureaucracy which tried to fairly run an entire economy made corruption necessary for things to work.

Anyone else not hugely impressed by Carrie Fisher in the series, she was good in the last episode but unremarkable otherwise. Sorta like Meryl Streep getting endless praise for mostly shit to mediocre performances. I mean I don't want to be a dick but she really wasn't that great compared to the other actors.

yup

The issue is there is basically no evidence for any of that.

It's a very American view of alcoholism though, plenty of people who have issues with alcohol can get past them and then be able to drink without ruining their lives. It just doesn't fit the narrative (not based on fact) that Americans have about alcoholism that people who have issues can never ever touch alcohol

Ireland is part of the British and Irish isles. The British isles are a political term and encompass Guernsey, Isle of man etc. Nobody uses the term "British isles" anymore, unless they read the Telegraph.

Can I say as an Irishman look at is from his perspective. It's a funny story this way, the other way when you say daughter and it's wife. Far worse.

I watched a coup attempt in Turkey on TV live.

It's definitely better than BCS. BCS is fun but it doesn't give me the feels in the same way.

They have pretty much the best on time record in the business. Mostly because they leave slack in the timetable, run a tight ship and don't use nightmare 110% capacity airports.

The pricing model is no different to US airlines it's just cheaper. Ryanair isn't like spirit where they charge you for hand luggage. It's genuinely a decent experience as long as you turn up on time with your boarding card. It's considerably better than my domestic US experience.

You are making shit up. They are common carriers and they specifically reserve the right to deny boarding which he had already done. There is no clear evidence they have any right to do what they attempted to do.

No he wasn't, he had a ticket and United can get fucked. If they needed the seats for their staff they could hire a private jet. You are fucking insane.

Passenger wasn't in the wrong. United can hire a private jet for their pilots or get new pilots. What the fuck is wrong with American aviation. Shit like this would be acceptable if tickets were free and they made their money from ancillary revenue but that isn't the case.

Nah you are a fucking idiot. The US industry is the way it is because of a complete lack of competition. Nobody else has to put up with the same shit. I can fly anywhere in Europe for a fraction of a price and I will never be bumped.

Not all airlines overbook.

Overbooking is fucking up. Ryanair doesn't overbook.

You are wrong.

In the book it's not quite clear initially if they are talking about the complete collapse of the belt. Like an empire falling when the bread basket goes. Few towns might survive the but the large institutions and cites collapse.
