Obviously, the problem here is that she chose the wrong product. She’s supposed to be looking for Kibbles ‘N Bits.

So she ate a burrito at Chipotle, big deal.
I never heard of it either and I graduated from law school in 1991. At first I thought it was a horrible typo that should have been “battery” but then I looked it up.
“Barratry” is the offense of instigating or encouraging groundless litigation. Two observations: First, I never heard the term in three years of law school; second, the attorneys she worked for must have flagrantly abused the system to get busted for Barratry. Then again, if their solution to being charged was to hire…
To my knowledge BLM has never shot up anywhere or killed anyone. When I was interviewing for a job for an organization that works with abortion we had to meet at an undisclosed location for safety reasons. I had to sign that I wouldn’t tell anyone where we met. Anti-choice fuck nuts have killed and bombed us. They…
Way to fling this at Black Lives Matter.
True story - my mom and grandma have curly hair. My grandma had always gotten shit at jobs for her hair. When she finally got a union job, she wore a straight wig for her entire probationary period (a few months?) ad then the day after her probation was up, she wore her real hair to work and they couldn't say a damn…
You are an apologist. Period.
You know what else would be an active violations of doctrine?
Yeah, but that’s bullshit. Mormon missionaries regularly convert children under the age of 18 who have parents who want nothing to do with the church. Fun fact, my brother baptized the child of a convicted murderer. So no, they’re not protecting the children, they’re doling out a punishment.
Exile from a community and ostracism have always been punishments in every culture. The more tightly knight the community is, the more harmful the separation is to those being driven out. Emotional ties sustain us in ways most of us don’t even think about until they’re cut.
Having once been mormon, I can say this ruling will have the greatest impact on how Mormon family/friends act towards gay people. Yeah, sure, if you are gay, you know that if you are out, you might likely leave the Church, but previous to this edict, you could probably maintain relationships with family and friends.…
It is punishing people. Did you miss this part, “In addition to classifying same-sex couples as “apostates,” the church’s new policy bars children of those couples—either adopted or biological—from being baptized, confirmed, ordained and participating in mission service without the permission of church leaders.”
I posted this down thread, but alas, I am forever in the greys so i’m reposting here.
I have been a weeping mess since last night over this. When I initially heard, I thought, “Good. This is so openly hateful and abusive that no one could defend this.” And... Then they did. People are witnessing the pain of those who have been deemed less-than and they don’t care. People are dying because they love…
Most Mormon children are baptized at the age of eight (which the church marks as the age of understanding right from wrong) and, according to the faith, the rite is an essential component of salvation.
Apostacy is the new black.
This is as important a story as Deadspin has ever done. My contempt for Hardy, Jones and Goodell is matched only by my admiration for Diana’s epic reporting.
And much respect to Deadspin for not letting this one go and publishing what they have.
