Simpson was not the best part of the show, agreed. He did seem to turn on a dime to being a bad guy and there were other muddled aspects of him. Now imagine less time for all characters- including Simpson. It would most likely end with incredibly one-dimensional characters. The 13 episode structure strikes the balance…

I respectfully disagree. I like the 13 episode structure as it allows for villain development. I cannot think of two better realized villains than Killgrave and Fisk. They need that breathing room.
