I am also a BofA user and I think you are misunderstanding the customer bonus. I recently was on the phone with them trying to understand the “preferred reward” bonus for their travel card. When they say 10% bonus, that is 10% extra points, not 10% cash back on purchases. So your 1% would become 1.1%, 2% at grocery
