Thought Rhymefest was rather overrated anyway…
but forget this homophobic mix, ch-ch-check this out!
the interviewer, Noz, runs perhaps my favorite hip-hop blog ever.
Wish I could've gotten into it…
but the cold, dead eyes and and utter lack of nuanced facial expressions killed it for me. Only could stomach about a 1/2 hour of it before I hastily shoved it back into the red envelope…didn't even face it with the bar code up - let Netflix deal with my wrath at their poor…
Frakkin meh…
sorry, couldn't resist. Fairly solid overall, didn't like the two young actresses too much (acting ability, not necessarily their characters), but can't wait to see more of Morales and Stoltz. The two of them are what made this worthwhile, and I want to see more of them.
'twas truly a game of cat and also cat between Jack and Tony.
"kind of trashy for TV" - Roneesh, really, that's like, what, the trashiest thing you've ever seen on TV? Like that broke the trash line that TV has ever so been precariously on the precipice of and flew off into full scale free fall trashdom?
jeez, how about a spoiler warning next time?
Wasn't there some shenanigoats…
w/r/t babysitting in Slums of Beverly Hills?
I don't know if you've ever shaved your eyebrows, Bob K, but that's going above and beyond the call right there…
@ Trakball - point being that being a critic's darling generally means you don't sell units and tickets, no matter what field you're in. His, and Anticon's music is "different", so why would he expect to make money? Isn't he doing it for the art? Why bemoan the obvious?
Del asking for a beer…
isn't anything to get all bent out of shape about, at least he didn't ply you for shrooms or, if the rumors are true, crack. A $2 PBR pint isn't exactly an exorbitant price for networking, for getting your precious demo in the hands of someone who could help your career.
to stand out from the crowd in Oakland you kinda have to.
top 5 in Oakland, California (bitches!)
Scobias goes with singular Thief…
but Murray calls it Thieves right over in his TCM thread. C'mon AV Club, don't confuse the punters…
Bertolucci's "The Conformist" is a must see, not only for the story but Storaro's draw droppingly beautiful cinematography. Plus, it's a fun little spot the "oh, hey, that's where they got that shot from" film.
maybe they'll put him on a bus to Miami. Slater can be Ratzo.
Lynn Kresge was kinda hot…
the pull back from the close-up of Tony to the split screen of the no longer rolling Moss was pretty damn solid too.
they're not really going against Netflix, as Facets appears to be more of a specialty/niche type rental service.
The competition, in this case, would be GreenCine.
