Neither do I. He could’ve stood up to his family and married Camilla. He didn’t. His own damn fault, and he made Diana miserable too.

Diana wanted to back out a few days before but her sister told her should couldn’t because the commemorative tea towels had already been printed.

She was examined by a doctor to confirm her virginity before she could marry Charles. Her uncle had to confirm it.

George VI and the Queen Mum did not have an arranged marriage. They met, many times, through friends and developed a relationship like normal, sane, non-Prince Charles people do. She actually turned him down the first time he proposed but he eventually won her over.

Has anyone else noticed an uptick in the volley of anti-Diana propaganda from the royal family lately or is that just me? If they’re trying to portray Diana as a villain to make the Queen Consort Camilla thing more palatable, it is not going to work. Diana is single-handedly responsible for turning the tide of public

Margaret Atwood can go fuck herself.

“Brennan tells the Marine Corps Times that there’s a ‘bounty on pictures of my daughter...It has been suggested that my wife should be raped as a result of this, and people are openly suggesting that I should be killed...Can you imagine being one of the victims?’”

I must add that I’ve been able to piece together this much of the story in just the last 3 hours (THAT MANY sources have been talking!). Imagine how much dirt - including what’s in all these FBI/CIA/NSA case files - is yet to come this week.

This is a whopper of a mistake by Trump. The Feds had him (and his mob family) under investigation for some time, with respect to Russian money laundering. A year ago, they sought a FISA warrant to wiretap Trump Tower but the judge refused it for insufficient evidence.

Robert Reich lays out the options as being threefold:

Or, conversely, a wiretap — FISA or otherwise — was authorized, which means a judge found probably cause of wrongdoing in the first place.

“The things you mention “thrashing around in pain,” etc. pretty much only happen in the movies.”

This is what exactly what is going on here- negative marketing. I am a physician and once every few months I encounter a patient who needs to tell me about the medicine ‘really’ works. About how “doctors make money off people being sick, not getting better” but “healers just want you to get better”. Now there are

I can see subsituting the Ordinaries, which I think are better than Glossier’s serums. But RMS is SIGNIFICANTLY more expensive than Glossier, and Benefit is at a similar price point. And the Avene cleanser is comparable.

Going to have to disagree with the snark here. I’m very, very happy to see a female-led beauty startup achieve the crazy levels of funding and success that they have. So many of the power-players in this industry are men giving their best approximation of “what women want” (which for so long appeared to be heavily

Since this comment was made (loooong ago!) I’ve actually had 2 children, one attended by a midwife. So it’s fun to look back at this after firsthand experience ! That said, my opinion remains the same; I would make this same comment today because there *are* a whole bunch of shitty, under-trained “midwives” out there.

@Loranys: Yeah, I dashed that off first thing in the morning, and having gone back and looked over a lot of the comments on the article, I realize I was pretty glib. A lot of women have been through some horrifying experiences, and it makes me question what goes on in our hosiptals and medical schools that so many

@LaComtesse: Thank you. Home birth for many is beautiful; for others I personally know it has been a true hell (ending with a high risk c-section at a hospital after 17 hours laboring at home with a midwife in one case; having the baby before the midwife could bother to show up in another). Midwives have their own

I would be interested to know the origin of this term. Above, it says that it's been floating about the mid-wife blog circuit. And that makes the cynic in me perk up her evil little pointed ears.

Ugh. There is a lot to complain about re: way women are treated by hospitals and ob/gyns, but the only time it is appropriate to use the term "birth rape" is IF SOMEONE RAPES YOU WHILE YOU ARE GIVING BIRTH.
